What we like about this property:
Simplicity, harmony with nature and splendid seclusion make this our go-to cabin in the woods. We love the straightforward rustic, modern profile, warm wood and bright inviting vibe.

Gently harmonizing with its environment, this back-to-basics cabin provides all of the fundamentals of country living, with a touch of contemporary style and modern comforts.

Located above a secluded meadow, the house is very private and surrounded by native forests just minutes away from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park.

The simple clapboard construction and rustic wood interiors are warm and homey while the multiple windows infuse the house with light, framing the wild natural landscape and immersing you in the woods.

The raised platform sleeping nook is surrounded by windows for dreamy nights and bright mornings, and the additional queen-sized bed means there’s room for up to four guests.

The kitchen is fully equipped, and you’ll have ample space on the large deck with BBQ for alfresco dining and lounging. The fireplace is cozy and warm on chilly nights.

Casual and effortless, this cabin is a great example of relaxing rustic style and easy living.

Additional features:
Wifi, fully-equipped kitchen and bath. Housekeeping.

Only minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, Base Camp is ideally situated away from the crowds but with easy access to the park.

Beautiful cabin which made a great base to explore Yosemite. There is a gravel road leading up to the cabin so make sure you have a higher profile vehicle. It is about a 1-hour drive into Yosemite Valley and 10 minutes away from Bass Lake. My wife, two dogs, and I had a great time relaxing after a long days hike.

I visited Sep 14-16, 2012 (3 nights) The cabin is located in the forest with 100% privacy and nature around. It is highly comfortable for couple with children (I will doubt two couples because one of the double beds is in the open space). You have everything you need there, but this is not what I wanted to tell you. You probably read about all of this in other reviews. What I wanted to tell you is, for my opinion, even more important. The owners of the cabin are super nice and willing to help in everything you need during your stay at the cabin and after. For me, it is the best feeling, more than anything else. Enjoy 🙂

We have stayed at Far Meadow/old yosemite a couple of times, and it is always everything you’d want it to be. The old yosemite cabin is REALLY pretty and being down closer to Oakhurst makes it a great place to stay if you want to be able to go into Yosemite Valley for the day. We also spent a few days up at the A-Frame cabin and its definitely one of our favorite places to go. Its just the right blend of simple/rustic without actually roughing it at all. Both places are well tended, the host is friendly and helpful, and its overall probably the most relaxing experience you could imagine. All in all, the properties are what you make of them… there’s really something for everyone.. if you’re very active/outdoor adventurer, there’s a ton of exploring to do… if you’re more of a foodie/hangout type there is an amazing deck with a fabulous grill on it for perfect outdoor cooking and eating/hanging out. We’ll be back!
